Just came back from The Dark Knight...whoa is all I can say. I mean literally...whoa.
I can also finally answer the question of, Why so serious? I'll tell you why, because Heath Ledger was amazing.

The first scene that he does this thing involving a writing utensil... and whoa. I was utterly
shocked, but loved it.

It gave me a 2 & 1/2 hour break from all the other crazy things going on, which sounds crazy given the movie's subject matter but; it was true. I swear not one second was spent thinking about anything other than what was on screen and given the current state of affairs that has been nearly impossible of late.

Heath Ledger was magical on the screen. The way he absorbed the character and what happened to him after filming the movie makes perfect sense now. I know why he couldn't sleep and why he may not have felt like himself. I almost couldn't sleep myself and I only spent a few hours in The Joker's company and not months adapting his mind.

Despite the sadness of his passing, and the troublesome feelings he had because of the role I think fans of his must be happy, his family must be happy. His commitment to the craft of acting, the superior job that he did, must be commended. I smiled right along with The Joker... creepy though...real creepy.
