What do people dream about?

Is it normal to have dreams about stalkers and people chasing you down a cobble stone street? Or being held in a camp some where in Russia awaiting death. What of dreams containning large flying roaches that threaten to take your sight.
Is it terrifiying to read?
What do you know about dreams where you can not scream be feel every bit of toture at the hands of a headless beast? Do you ever recall dreams where you switch characters within the dream as you would if you were switching television channels? I'd ask you to think and think hard have you yet to have a dream where water is thick and black, or where animals mean you harm?
I have known these dreams all too often. They are my own. Or at least partially my own. They appear to be what my waking mind fears, but my sleeping mind embraces. Almost like if you were to leave a wandering child unattended. When left to it's own devices my wandering sleeping mind plays tricks and betrays me. Then when I awake short of breath, in a cold sweat and full of fear my sleeping mind is gone. Unfortunately the scars of the dreams are left for my waking mind to pull apart, put back together, and then never forget.
How do you smile each day with these dreams on your mind? I wonder if there are scores of people out there, maybe even you reading this, that know and understand the sleeping mind of which I speak. Yet, how could you understand it, it is not understandable, yet it is easy to know.

How?
You know something when you recongize it, and everytime I shake myself awake and I am near tears...I know that my sleeping mind has been at it again. Betraying me with each turn I tossed in my dreaming pain.
