penetrate the spirit
of my mind

Why did the words
even matter
words like
silly and flatter
fear and fog
stars and catalog
or even smile

I think for you it's
been quite a while
for me heart pain
difficult circumstances
reject upset
and distain
all come back like
2nd nature

Talented?
yes I am
at being me
myself and I
only I hold I
when feelings
of self pity
disgust beauty
or lust
gather at my spine
and rush up to
my throat
and the overwhelming
feelings hit my lips
they part
and they whisper
